Let’s face it, your cat probably thinks of all your furniture in the house as her own. But maybe it’s time to brush off all that cat hair from your sofa and find furniture made especially for cats. How about buying a cat perch, cat tree or “kitty condo”?

Here are 3 things to look for in a cat tree or kitty condo:

1. It should be tall. Your cat craves heights! But do make sure the furniture is not so tall that it is wobbly.
2. Your cat’s new playground should be carpeted for comfort and should have a private sleeping nook.
3. An attached scratching post is a definite must. Cats need to keep their nails nice and healthy.
4. Bonus points: Set up your cat’s new perch right by the window so she can have a great view of what’s going on outside.

Bingo! A happy cat, and a cat-hair-free sofa.
