Herbal remedies for cats.

As we seek out natural and alternative methods of treatment, we want the same for our pets. Herbal remedies for cats are just a manifestation of the desire to provide beneficial alternative treatment options.

According to The Natural Remedy Book for Dog’s & Cats, “For almost any medical drug or pet disease, there is an effective herbal alternative.”

The biggest advantage of using natural remedies is that they are considered very safe when used with common sense, because they are derived from herbs. Also, herbs are cheap and available in several different forms, including herbal teas, tinctures, capsules and poultices.

Natural remedies for cats can not only cure the ailment but also strengthen the body, thus increasing overall health and immunity. Herbal remedies for cats are available for skin and eye problems, the liver and kidney, and also as a natural way to maintain the health of the cat.

A majority of cat owners have started to recognize the importance and effectiveness of using these herbal medicines. These holistic remedies for cats, in addition to pet vitamins and a healthy diet, will provide a protective cover against any sort of infections. There are even herbal flea sprays and powders and collars.

Some of the important substances that are used in the herbal treatment of cats include Huang Qi, mistletoe, Echinacea purpurea, Indian ginseng and milk thistle. These herbs will help the cat maintain its sugar and blood pressure levels too. Next let’s look briefly at a few common herbs.

There is a lot of research that is being done in most parts of the world on herbal remedies for cats, but natural cat medicines cannot replace qualified medical care (especially if your cat is seriously ill). You will need to consult your veterinarian regarding the correct dosage of the herbal remedy to be administered.
