Young pet owners tend to be more overweight and less healthy than those without pets, a Finnish study has found.
Other findings: Less educated people are more likely to own pets. Pet owners smoke more cigarettes but drink less alcohol.

Yup, even our pets are fat. As many as 30 percent of U.S. dogs are overweight. But hold on now, don’t put those tasty dog treats away just yet. There’s a diet pill. For dogs.
Slentrol, made by Pfizer, the makers of Viagra, was approved by the FDA in 2007. The dog medication reduces appetite and fat absorption, and must be prescribed by a veterinarian. Experts warn that it’s not a miracle drug, though, so changing nasty eating habits in your dog is key.
