Dog Park in New Orleans – (A Review)
In New Orleans one good dog park is actually a stretch of river levee.
You can find this New Orleans dog run by driving along St. Charles Avenue, away from downtown and toward uptown, until you get to an area called Riverbend (where St. Charles Avenue meets Carrollton Avenue). It’s at the river, behind the railroad tracks.
Dog Park in New Orleans – A Review
The pros: It’s a vast grassy running area, complete with beautiful river view. Also, two words: mud puddles. Well, the dogs sure love ‘em.
You’ll find plenty of friendly canines and humans alike, and hey, it’s New Orleans, so you can even bring a daiquiri if you want.
The cons: Due to its “unofficial” status, there’s no boundary fence to this New Orleans dog park, and you’ll have a railroad train to reckon with now and then, not to mention bicyclists and horse riders.
Also, no one picks up after their dogs, so it’s a virtual minefield of crap.
