What is the best cat food?

We are what we eat; shouldn’t it be the same for your feline pal? If you want your cat to have a healthy, long life, you must be careful while choosing its food.

You might be feeding your kitty the wrong kind of cat food, which might result in disease once it grows older. Take care to read the label; your cat does not deserve ingredients that cause harm. Kittens are very sensitive and react to chemicals found in canned food.

Pet owners who have cats and dogs as pets sometimes make the mistake of sharing the food between them, and if the cat eats the same food as the dog it will fall sick. So what do you do? What is the best cat food?

Here’s how to choose… simply look for these things:

Include meat – Cats require much more protein than dogs, and this need can be supplemented with meat. It can be either land or marine meat, depending on your cat’s choice. You may be surprised to know that canned wet food is often better than dry food. The additional benefit of wet food is that it will help your kitty maintain its weight. But don’t offer too much protein, as it could cause kidney problems.

Water – Most cats do not take an adequate amount of liquid, which could lead to dehydration and ultimately stress their kidney. Wet foods should be the ideal choice, because they will help the cats stay hydrated.

Taurine and arginine – Your pet’s body cannot produce taurine and arginine, amino acids that are vital for a healthy heart, eyes, and manage protein waste and overall health. These nutrients come from a meat diet.

Vitamin A – Cats get it from meat.

Fatty acids – Your cat needs fat in order to be healthy.

Keep in mind these easy tips to know what is the best cat food. Depending on your cat’s age (kitten, adult or older), choose food ideally suited to it.
